Cost of Attendance
The most up-to-date information on cost of attendance is available from UO International Student and Scholar Services.
General Information about Costs
The published cost of attendance is for the nine-month period from mid-September, when classes begin for the academic year, to mid-June, when they end. Estimated summer expenses are approximately $1,800 for undergraduate tuition, plus living expenses and school supplies. If you are remaining in the U.S. over the summer but not going to school, you will need a minimum of $2,100 for living expenses. Students who are married or bringing families should allow for an additional $6,378 per academic year for a spouse, and $2,250 per academic year for each child. Information on housing costs is available from the University Housing office.
Paying Tuition and Fees
Tuition, fees, and UO housing charges are due at the beginning of each term. All fees must be paid in full by the date required. More information is available on the Student Accounting and Billing Information webpage.
Scholarship Information for International Students
The University of Oregon awards more than $1 million annually to international students studying on campus. Here are some specific examples of international student scholarships:
The International Deans Excellence Award is a partial tuition scholarship offered to students who demonstrate academic excellence in their academic performance. The total value of this scholarship is $16,000 over four years
The International Deans Achievement Award (IDEA) is a merit-based, partial-tuition scholarship awarded to new international undergraduate applicants. An application is not required for consideration for the award. IDEA award recipients are selected by the Office of Admissions on the basis of official academic records submitted with the UO application for admission. Each award is valued at $4,000-$8,000 and is renewable based on academic performance. To be considered for the IDEA scholarship, students must apply for admission to the UO before the priority deadline. The IDEA scholarship is awarded only to students who plan to enroll in the UO for the fall term
More information, including scholarships for citizens of specific countries, is available on the Scholarships and Financial Aid for International Students webpage.
